Flags and Emblems
From Volumes X; XVII; and XX, Catalog of Signs and Authority, The Archive.
The continent of Danukoria does not have any emblem or symbol to represent it.
Royal Flag of the Island of Lagdral
- The dark golden rod field represents the sands of the many beaches found on Lagdral. This symbolizes where the sea meets the land in partnership.
- The two yellow crowns represent the Royal House of Lagdral ruling alongside the mythical Lord of the Great Ocean.
- The dim gray anchor acknowledges the reliance of Lagdral on shipping for both protection and wealth.
United Principality of Zyvurge Flag
- The dark teal and dark orange red field represent the two principalities, Wharcer and Yadrios. Wharcer’s color was placed in the upper right corner in recognition of the fact that it was Wharcer who first approached Yadrios under a flag of truce, initiating the formal process through which the Border Treaty was later formed.
- The light green stripe represents the final joining of the two principalities, getting its color from the color of the mountain moss that usually ends up covering the Border Towers.
- The dark golden rod rings represent the marriage rings exchanged at the wedding that formed the kingdom. One ring is higher than the other to symbolize that even though there was a marriage, there is only one monarch.
Regency of Wharcer Flag
- The dark orange red field is the family color of the first Regent of Wharcer.
- The two dark golden rod insets represent the two western islands that were finally joined to Wharcer as a result of the Serviceman's Uprising.
- The crossed steel swords represent strength in battle and the Wharcer family Motto: "Δύο σπαθιά είναι καλύτερα από ένα" ("Two swords are better than one").
Principality of Yadrios Flag
- The white lynx represents the long-term plans that have been handed down from generation to generation. This is also reflected in the family motto "Πάντα σχεδιασμός, πάντα υπομονή" ("Always planning, always patience").
- The dark teal field is for the sky which represents the clear vision needed to guide the rulers of Yadrios.
- The lime green stripe represents the agricultural roots of the Yadrios prosperity.
Omega Tower Emblem
While the Border Towers fly no flag due to their political independence, they do have an emblem which is proudly displayed throughout the tower and a non-colored version of it is used as the seal on official documents.
- The dark orange red and dark teal field represent the two principalities, Wharcer and Yadrios.
- The light green tower represents the towers themselves. The color comes from a specific type of moss that is only found in the high mountain passes where most of the towers were built. Over time the moss grew on the towers to the point that it had completely covered them.
- The dark gray numbers are in the old Temple script and are the number of each tower. The Omega Tower's number is 24 in the Temple numbering system.
Border Guard Badge
The Border Guard badge is based on the Tower Emblem. There are no numbers used here because one of the early precepts held that no Guardsman could serve for a long time at any single tower, and they would never be posted to the same tower twice. This was to prevent a Guardsman from becoming attached to a specific town, which was felt might impede their ability to be impartial and objective when guarding the border. For this reason, whenever a Guardsman is relocated, their immediate family is frequently relocated with them.
